Adaptive optical post distortion linearization

open access: goldOptics Express, 2005
A technique to suppress optical nonlinearities is demonstrated using adaptive optical domain post distortion. The concept, rooted in electrical domain linearization, mitigates optical nonlinearities by generating sidebands that are equal but opposite in phase from the unwanted components.

Robustness of Forecasting for Autoregressive Time Series with Bilinear Distortions

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2016
The paper is devoted to the investigation of bilinear stochastic time series model BL(p, 0, 1, 1). The linear autoregressive forecasting statistic is considered under the mean-square risk criterion; its robustness under bilinear distortions is evaluated.

Helical versus linear Jahn-Teller distortions in allene and spiropentadiene radical cations

open access: yes, 2022
The allene radical cation can be stabilized both by Jahn-Teller distortion of the bond lengths and by torsion of the end-groups. However, only the latter happens and the allene radical cation relaxes into a twisted D2 symmetry structure with equal double-

Instrumental Quality Predictions and Analysis of Auditory Cues for Algorithms in Modern Headphone Technology

open access: yesTrends in Hearing, 2021
Smart headphones or hearables use different types of algorithms such as noise cancelation, feedback suppression, and sound pressure equalization to eliminate undesired sound sources or to achieve acoustical transparency. Such signal processing strategies

Compensating for non-linear distortions in controlled quantum systems

open access: yes, 2023
Predictive design and optimization methods for controlled quantum systems depend on the accuracy of the system model. Any distortion of the input fields in an experimental platform alters the model accuracy and eventually disturbs the predicted dynamics.

The simple analysis method of nonlinear frequency distortions in FMCW radar

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2001
The paper presents a simple method for estimating nonlinear frequency distortions of linear frequency modulated (LFM) signals used in FMCW radars. This method, derived from the polynomial model of the nonlinear FM signal phase, is based on finding the ...

Stereoscopic 3D geometric distortions analyzed from the viewer's point of view.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) geometric distortions can be introduced by mismatches among image capture, display, and viewing configurations. In previous work of S3D geometric models, geometric distortions have been analyzed from a third-person perspective based
