Variational analysis in dynamical problems of linear elasticity [PDF]
AbstractThe initial–boundary value problems in the linear theory of elasticity is considered. Based on the method of integrodifferential relations (MIDR) two dynamical variational principles is proposed and discussed. It is shown that the Hamilton principle as well as the corresponding complementary principle stated for dynamic boundary value problems ...

MODELLING AND SIMULATION OF LATTICE STRUCTURES USING VARIOUS MATERIAL MODELS FOR POLYMERIC MATERIALS
Based on lightweight design concepts, lattices are increasingly considered as internal structures. This work deals with the simulation of periodically constructed lattices to characterize their behaviour under different loadings considering various ...

Finite‐volume stress analysis in multi‐material linear elastic body [PDF]
SUMMARYCorrect calculation of stresses at the interface of bonded or otherwise joined materials plays a significant role in many applications. It is therefore important that traction at the material interface is calculated as accurately as possible. This paper describes procedures that can be employed to achieve this goal by using centre‐based finite ...

To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

A Virtual Element Method for 2D linear elastic fracture analysis [PDF]
This paper presents the Virtual Element Method (VEM) for the modeling of crack propagation in 2D within the context of linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM). By exploiting the advantage of mesh flexibility in the VEM, we establish an adaptive mesh refinement strategy based on the superconvergent patch recovery for triangular, quadrilateral as well ...

Objective Ultrasound (US) has been proposed as a potential tool for assessing skin fibrosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc). However, a large‐scale comparison of US‐based assessment with histologic markers of skin fibrosis has not been reported. We evaluated US‐based skin assessments for their face validity (differentiation between involved SSc and healthy

INFLUENCE OF PLASTIC DEFORMATION OF ADHEREND MATERIAL ON STRESS DISTRIBUTION IN ADHESIVE LAP JOINTS
In the stress analysis of adhesive lap joints, the linear-elastic model of adherend material is often used. In some cases, when the joined material has a low yield stress, this assumption causes errors in the stress estimation in the adhesive layer or ...
