Network Flows That Solve Linear Equations [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2017
We study distributed network flows as solvers in continuous time for the linear algebraic equation $\mathbf{z}=\mathbf{H}\mathbf{y}$. Each node $i$ has access to a row $\mathbf{h}_i^{\rm T}$ of the matrix $\mathbf{H}$ and the corresponding entry $z_i$ in the vector $\mathbf{z}$.

Combating Control Flow Linearization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Piracy is a persistent headache for software companies that try to protect their assets by investing both time and money. Program code obfuscation as a sub-field of software protection is a mechanism widely used toward this direction. However, effectively protecting a program against reverse-engineering and tampering turned out to be a highly non ...

Kinematics of a Fluid Ellipse in a Linear Flow

open access: yesFluids, 2018
A four-parameter kinematic model for the position of a fluid parcel in a time-varying ellipse is introduced. For any ellipse advected by an arbitrary linear two-dimensional flow, the rates of change of the ellipse parameters are uniquely determined by ...

Protein fiber linear dichroism for structure determination and kinetics in a low-volume, low-wavelength couette flow cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
High-resolution structure determination of soluble globular proteins relies heavily on x-ray crystallography techniques. Such an approach is often ineffective for investigations into the structure of fibrous proteins as these proteins generally do not ...

Design of poiseuille flow controllers using the method of inequalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper investigates the use of the method of inequalities (MoI) to design output-feedback compensators for the problem of the control of instabilities in a laminar plane Poiseuille flow.

Coal flow volume measurement based on linear model partitioning

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2023
The precision and computational efficiency of coal quantity measurement for belt conveyors based on linear laser stripes are low. There is a trailing phenomenon during belt operation, as well as data misalignment caused by deviation and drifting.

Linear tubular switched reluctance motor for heart assistance circulatory: Analytical and finite element modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A linear tubular switched reluctance motor is presented. This actuator is devoted to be used as a left ventricular assist device (LVAD). In order to avoid thrombosis, this actuator includes pump and valve functions. By using a St. Jude Medical mechanical

Modelling of enhanced water flow in deformable carbon nanotubes using a linear pressure-diameter relationship

open access: yes, 2023
Numerous researchers have documented a notable enhancement in water flow through nanotubes While modelling, these researchers typically treated the CNTs with rigid walls.

Generalized linear‐constrained optimal power flow for distribution networks

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2023
Optimal power flow (OPF) plays an important role in the secure and economical operation of the distribution network. This paper proposes a novel generalized linear‐constrained optimal power flow (GLOPF) model for both radial and mesh distribution ...
