Optimization of seminal extracellular vesicle isolation protocols for cancer biomarker analysis using proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This paper shows that size‐exclusion chromatography and sequential centrifugation applied to seminal plasma enrich for different populations of extracellular vesicles. This may significantly affect the detection and analysis of extracellular vesicle‐associated cancer biomarkers.

Reachability Of Cone Fractional Continuous-Time Linear Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A new class of cone fractional continuous-time linear systems is introduced. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a fractional linear system to be a cone fractional one are established.

Spatial heterogeneity of hotspot mutations and clonal relatedness in ovarian endometrioid carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatially resolved analysis revealed heterogeneous distributions of selected cancer‐associated mutations within ovarian endometrioid carcinomas. Shared mutations between paired endometrial and ovarian tumors supported clonal relatedness. These findings highlight the value of sampling multiple tumor regions when interpreting molecular profiles ...

Positive fractional and cone fractional linear systems

open access: yes, 2012
The positive fractional and cone fractional continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are addressed. Sufficient conditions for the reachability of positive and cone fractional continuous-time linear systems are given. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity and asymptotic stability of the continuous-time linear systems are ...

Approximation of fractional positive stable continuous-time linear systems by fractional positive stable discrete-time systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Fractional positive asymptotically stable continuous-time linear systems are approximated by fractional positive asymptotically stable discrete-time systems using a linear Padé-type approximation.

USP7 inhibits FOXO1 activity in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia cells enhancing cell survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CLL cells rely on BCR‐mediated signalling for survival and proliferation in part through suppression of FOXO1. FOXO1 activity is regulated by a plethora of post‐translational modifications including phosphorylation and ubiquitination. We demonstrated that dual inhibition of BCR signalling and the deubiquitinase USP7 activates FOXO1, modulating its ...

Tumour‐proximal deep serum proteomics identifies biomarkers associated with ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
New biomarkers are needed for early ovarian cancer detection. Ovarian (tumour‐proximal) and peripheral vein serum from healthy women and patients with benign or malignant tumours underwent nanoparticle‐enriched deep proteomics. Ovarian serum yielded more protein identifications and revealed tumour‐reflective signatures.

Random Vibration Analysis of Linear/Nonlinear Systems with Fractional Derivatives Subjected to Colored Noise

open access: yesAerospace
In this paper, the stochastic responses of multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) linear/nonlinear systems with rational-order fractional derivatives excited by colored noise are investigated.

Equivalent system for a multiple-rational-order fractional differential system

open access: yes, 2013
Free to read at publisher\ud \ud The equivalent system for a multiple-rational-order (MRO) fractional differential system is studied, where the fractional derivative is in the sense of Caputo or Riemann-Liouville. With the relationship between the Caputo

The impact of leukocyte‐associated RNA retention on platelet RNA‐based cancer detection

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Platelets carry RNA signals that may help detect cancer, but platelet samples can also retain RNA from white blood cells. We found that this retained white blood cell signal did not significantly affect machine learning cancer classification, suggesting that the cancer‐related RNA signal in platelets is largely independent of leukocyte‐associated RNA ...
