This paper experimentally investigates the film cooling performance of an enlarged turbine guide vane with full-coverage cylindrical hole film cooling in short duration transonic wind tunnel which can model realistic engine aerodynamic conditions and adjust inlet Reynolds number and isentropic exit Mach number independently.

This investigation proposes a novel linear algebraic model (LAM) for deriving simple and accurate empirical formulas solved numerically for a complex convective flow system. A classical mixing convection problem in a uniformly heated horizontal circular tube is selected to demonstrate the validity of the linear algebraic model.
