Respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) is a form of cardiorespiratory coupling. It is observed as changes in the heart rate in synchrony with the respiration. RSA has been hypothesized to be due to a combination of linear and nonlinear effects.

Linear logic [\textit{J.-Y. Girard}, ibid. 50, 1-102 (1987; Zbl 0625.03037)] provides a refinement of functional programming and suggests a new implementation technique, with the following features: - a synthesis of strict and lazy evaluation, - a clean semantics of side effects, - no garbage collector.

DYNAMIC LOAD OF LINEAR GUIDING SYSTEMS IN HANDLING MACHINES [PDF]
Linear guiding systems are used in machines for relative translational motion of components, especially for handling devices, which are the basis of production lines.

AbstractThe analogy of the Krohn-Rhodes theory of finite state machines is developed for linear positive machines with inputs from a commutative Banach algebra with involution. The notion of prime machine in this context is shown to correspond maximal ideal in the input algebra.

Investigation into linear generators with integrated magnetic gear for wave energy power take off
This work presents a new wave energy converter power take off (PTO) system that combines two recent developments in drive train technology, the consequent pole linear vernier hybrid permanent magnet machine and the linear magnetic gear.

Permanent Magnet Linear Generators (PMLGs) are currently being studied for sea wave energy harvesting. Typically, a PMLG consists of an iron-made armature and a moving translator. The permanent magnets adoption produces parasitic effects, such as cogging

Infinite linear sequential machines
AbstractLinear sequential machines (LSM's for short) are considered over arbitrary fields. Various finiteness conditions are given for, sequential machines and LSM's with these properties are characterized. It is shown that the set of all input/output pairs characterizes an LSM. The effect on realizations of varying the ground field is studied.

ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...
