Linear Magnetoresistance Caused by Mobility Fluctuations in n-Doped Cd3As2 [PDF]
Cd3As2 is a candidate three-dimensional Dirac semimetal which has exceedingly high mobility and nonsaturating linear magnetoresistance that may be relevant for future practical applications.

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

ON MAGNETIC SURFACE STATES INDUCED LINEAR MAGNETORESISTANCE [PDF]
Un nouveau modèle quantique pour expliquer la magnétorésistance linéaire des métaux simples est proposé. L'explication dépend de l'existence d'états de surface magnétiques internes au voisinage des dislocations ou d'autres imperfections étendues du ...

Geometric Manipulation of the High-Field Linear Magnetoresistance in InSb Epilayers on GaAs(001) [PDF]
We address the inherent high-field magnetoresistance (MR) of indium antimonide epilayers on GaAs (001), studying the modification of the MR when processed into a set of geometries. The changes produced by the geometries are quite subtle.

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Linear magnetoresistance in metals: Guiding center diffusion in a smooth random potential [PDF]
We predict that guiding center (GC) diffusion yields a linear and nonsaturating (transverse) magnetoresistance in 3D metals. Our theory is semiclassical and applies in the regime where the transport time is much greater than the cyclotron period and for ...

Mobility-Fluctuation-Controlled Linear Positive Magnetoresistance in 2D Semiconductor Bi
Linear magnetoresistance is generally observed in polycrystalline zero-gap semimetals and polycrystalline Dirac semimetals with ultrahigh carrier mobility.

Measuring the Hall Effect in Hysteretic Materials
The authors highlight common pitfalls in measuring the Hall effect: in hysteretic magnets, improper data processing can create signals that look exotic but are not real. This Perspective explains the origin of these artifacts and presents practical measurement strategies that help researchers identify reliable Hall responses in complex magnetic ...
