The Impact of Acquisition Intensity on ESG Performance

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of Acquisition Intensity on ESG performance using a panel of 1,736 US‐listed companies from 2002 to 2023. Employing a robust OLS framework, we assess both Value‐Based and Volume‐Based Acquisition Intensity against overall ESG scores and their environmental, social, and governance pillars, controlling for firm

Platform Business Model Innovation for Sustainability: A Framework for Industry 5.0 Integration

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A comprehensive framework is developed for adopting Platform Business Model Innovation (PBMI) to enhance sustainable performance in the Industry 5.0 (I5.0) era. While PBMI plays a growing role in corporate transformation, tensions persist between profit‐driven objectives and broader sustainability imperatives.

Investigating How Firms in Emerging Economies Integrate AI‐Driven Systems and ESG Metrics Into Biodiversity Conservation and Circular Economy Strategies

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how firms in emerging economies integrate artificial intelligence (AI) with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices to enhance biodiversity conservation and circular economy outcomes. It examines the mediating role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) governance and the moderating effect of ...

Convex inner approximations of nonconvex semialgebraic sets applied to fixed-order controller design

open access: yes, 2012
We describe an elementary algorithm to build convex inner approximations of nonconvex sets. Both input and output sets are basic semialgebraic sets given as lists of defining multivariate polynomials.

Green Is the New Gold: Redefining Opulent Lifestyle Through Organic Food Purchases

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prior studies based on the Theory of Planned Behavior mostly examined the effects of health and environmental concerns on organic food consumption; however, few addressed the paradoxical relationships in the context of opulent or symbolic decorum.

Optimization of Lithium‐Ion Battery Circular Economy in Electric Vehicles in Sustainable Supply Chain

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 4, Issue 2, March 2025.
Lithium batteries constitute a pivotal component in electric vehicles (EVs) owing to their rechargeability and high‐power output capabilities. ABSTRACT Lithium batteries constitute a pivotal component in electric vehicles (EVs) owing to their rechargeability and high‐power output capabilities.

Decoding Emotional Signatures of Ethical Ads: An Analysis of Actor‐Viewer Synchrony

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine whether ethical advertisements differ from conventional ads in their on‐screen emotional signatures and whether those signatures transfer to actor‐viewer synchrony. Study 1 analyses 138 professionally produced YouTube ads using Automated Facial Expression Recognition (AFER) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to quantify actor ...

Classifying linear matrix inequalities via abstract operator systems

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications
We systematically study how properties of abstract operator systems help classifying linear matrix inequality definitions of sets. Our main focus is on polyhedral cones, the 3-dimensional Lorentz cone, where we can completely describe all defining linear matrix inequalities, and on the cone of positive semidefinite matrices.

Optimal model‐based design of experiments for parameter precision: Supercritical extraction case

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from flowers. A parameter‐distributed model consisting of a set of partial differential equations is used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena in a cylindrical packed bed with solid chamomile particles under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as a solvent ...

Optimization of a reactor for biostimulant production with emphasis on the economic aspects of hydrolysis

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Biostimulants are increasingly used in agriculture to promote plant growth, improve stress tolerance, and support sustainable farming practices. One common method of production is chemical hydrolysis of protein‐rich waste, such as tannery by‐products, offering an economical and eco‐friendly alternative to conventional raw materials.
