DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Log‐linear modeling

WIREs Computational Statistics, 2011
AbstractThis article describes log‐linear models as special cases of generalized linear models. Specifically, log‐linear models use a logarithmic link function. Log‐linear models are used to examine joint distributions of categorical variables, dependency relations, and association patterns.

The General Linear Model

2015
This article provides an introduction into the statistical analysis of neuroimaging data using the general linear model. The analysis allows a flexible use of various models offering a wide range of statistical tests for the analysis of typical neuroimaging experiments. A short introduction to the general linear model is provided using simple examples.

General Linear Models

2007
This chapter presents the general linear model as an extension to the two-sample t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and linear regression. We illustrate the general linear model using two-way ANOVA as a prime example. The underlying principle of ANOVA, which is based on the decomposition of the value of an observed variable into grand mean, group ...
