Color linear model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
In this paper, procedures for creating an effective linear model to represent surface spectra are presented. The model is derived by considering spectral data and the human visual characteristic that depends on wave lengths. Two human visual weighting functions (HVWF) are derived from human visual characteristic. The basis functions of the linear model

Null tests of the standard model using the linear model formalism

open access: yes, 2018
We test both the FLRW geometry and $\Lambda$CDM cosmology in a model independent way by reconstructing the Hubble function $H(z)$, the comoving distance $D(z)$ and the growth of structure $f\sigma_8(z)$ using the most recent data available.

The Fate (Outcome) of Clinically Apparent Single Lesion and Oligofocal Nephroblastomatosis Treated According to SIOP/GPOH Protocols for Wilms Tumor

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Economic modelling using constraint logic programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This paper investigates the use of constraint logic programming (CLP) in economic modelling through the design and implementation of two economic models.

Inpatient Food Insecurity and Pediatric Hematology Oncology Hospitalization Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Children with cancer and blood disorders are at risk for food insecurity (FI). We aimed to describe the association of inpatient food insecurity (IFI) and hospitalization outcomes among patients admitted to the pediatric hematology oncology service. Of 325 caregivers screened for IFI, 60 (18.6%) screened positive.

Digital Biomass Accumulation Using High-Throughput Plant Phenotype Data Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Bioinformatics, 2017
Biomass is an important phenotypic trait in functional ecology and growth analysis. The typical methods for measuring biomass are destructive, and they require numerous individuals to be cultivated for repeated measurements.

A comparison of linear and nonlinear model performance of shia_landslide: a forecasting model for rainfall-induced landslides

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2016
Landslides are one of the main causes of global human and economic losses. Vulnerability to landslide hazards has increased due to expanded land urbanisation in areas with high landslide susceptibility.

A decomposition of a linear model

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2009
In this paper we consider a general linear model in a continuous time. We propose a decomposition of the process which helps us to understand the structure of the model. Moreover, the sufficiency of the BLUE estimator of the expectation of the process can be characterized in terms of the Gaussian character of a component of the decomposition.

‘They Need to Hear You Say It’: Healthcare Professionals’ Perspectives on Barriers and Enablers to End‐of‐Life Discussions With Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT End‐of‐life conversations with adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer rarely occur without the guidance of healthcare professionals. As a part of the ‘Difficult Discussions’ study, focused on palliative care and advance care planning discussions with AYAs with cancer, we investigated the factors that healthcare professionals identify ...
