Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Linear Estimation for Approximately Linear Models
An approximate linear model is proposed to allow for deviations from an underlying ideal linear model as follows: If, in standard notation, $Y = A\beta + \varepsilon$ is the ideal model then $Y = A\beta + r + \varepsilon$ where $|r_i| \leqq M_i$ for $M$ a given vector is an approximate linear model.

Twisting gauged non-linear sigma-models
We consider gauged sigma-models from a Riemann surface into a Kaehler and hamiltonian G-manifold X. The supersymmetric N=2 theory can always be twisted to produce a gauged A-model.

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

A class of linear models is developed in which activities are derived from transformations of each other and exogenous activities. The models are illustrated using spatial distributions of population and employment. Reduced forms are derived and the influence of different transformations on spatial model solutions is explored in terms of the balance of

ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Mathematical modeling for digestible energy in animal feeds for tilapia=Modelagem matemática para energia digestivel de ingredientes de origem animal para tilápias [PDF]
The objective of this study was to formulate a mathematical model to estimate digestible energy in animal feeds for tilapia. Literature results were used of the proximate composition of crude protein, ether extract, mineral matter and gross energy, as ...

AbstractGeneralized Linear Modeling (GLM) unifies several statistical techniques, providing a stable and modular foundation on which to build a useful working knowledge of statistical modeling. GLMs enable a re-interpretation of previously learned ANOVA and regression techniques and integrate well with more advanced modeling techniques introduced in ...

Boosting for high-dimensional linear models
We prove that boosting with the squared error loss, $L_2$Boosting, is consistent for very high-dimensional linear models, where the number of predictor variables is allowed to grow essentially as fast as $O$(exp(sample size)), assuming that the true ...
