Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Ultra-broadband wide-angle linear polarization converter based on H-shaped metasurface.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
We report the design, fabrication, and measurement of an ultra-broadband wide-angle reflective cross-polarization convertor using the compact H-shaped metasurface.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Energy rule for enhancing the spin Hall effect in superposition of axisymmetric beams with cylindrical and linear polarization

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
We study the spin angular momentum of a superposition of two vector light beams radial symmetry, one has cylindrical polarization and another – linear. Both beams can have an arbitrary radial shape.

Linear-to-Dual-Circular Polarization Decomposition Metasurface Based on Rotated Trimming-Stub-Loaded Circular Patch

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
This paper presents a linear-to-dual-circular polarization metasurface decomposer, which decomposes a linearly polarized (LP) planar incident wave into a pair of circular polarized (CP) waves, namely, a right-handed circular polarized (RHCP) wave and a ...

The First Simultaneous 3.5 and 1.3mm Polarimetric Survey of Active Galactic Nuclei in the Northern Sky

open access: yes, 2014
Short millimeter observations of radio-loud AGN offer the opportunity to study the physics of their inner relativistic jets, from where the bulk millimeter emission is radiated.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Vector analysis of the interference of paired coplanar beams with linear or circular polarization

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
In this work, using a focusing formalism based on Richards–Wolf theory, the multi-beam interference of two and four light beams with linear or circular polarization with different orthogonality and orientation of the polarization vector is numerically ...

3C 286: a bright, compact, stable, and highly polarized calibrator for millimeter-wavelength observations

open access: yes, 2012
(Context.) A number of millimeter and submillimeter facilities with linear polarization observing capabilities have started operating during last years. These facilities, as well as other previous millimeter telescopes and interferometers, require bright

Spatially resolved origin of millimeter-wave linear polarization in the nuclear region of 3C 84 [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2018
We report results from a deep polarization imaging of the nearby radio galaxy 3C 84 (NGC 1275). The source was observed with the Global Millimeter VLBI Array (GMVA) at 86 GHz at an ultrahigh angular resolution of 50 μas (corresponding to ∼200Rs). We also
