Code excited linear prediction codec for electrocardiogram

The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005
In this paper we propose a CELP ECG codec for medical telemetry. The encoding algorithm is based on CODE-EXCITED LINEAR PREDICTION (CELP). The general framework proposed is: QRS detection, calculation of LPC parameter, generation of residual error signal, codebook generation, MSE (mean square error) search. The codebook is generated for residual error.

LINEAR PREDICTIVE CODING IN A NEW BINARY SYSTEM

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2000
Linear Predictive Coding is applied for transmitting the samples in a binary system consisting of (+1,-1). This binary system provides a unified method of encoding signed quantities. All the pole filters used in the LPC have been achieved with different algorithms. LPC in this system is found to be suitable for encoding signed numbers in unified way.

On trellis codes for linear predictive speech compression

1994
We consider the problem of efficient codebook search for the code excited linear predictive (CELP) speech coders. To dimmish the search complexity a trellis codebook is proposed and decoding algorithms based on the Viterbi algorithm are investigated. Numerical results of the computer simulation are presented.

Pyramid linear prediction coding for images

Journal of Shanghai University (English Edition), 1997
Motivated by wavelet transform, this paper presents a pyramid linear prediction coding (PLPC) algorithm for digitial images. The algorithm outputs the rough contour of an image and a prediction error sequence. In contrast to the conventional linear prediction method, PLPC exhibits very little sensitivity to channel errors and provides a more efficient ...

Parallel processing algorithms for linear predictive coding

ICASSP '80. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
The use of the SIMD (single instruction stream-multiple data stream) mode of parallelism to perform linear predictive coding analysis is explored. Parallel algorithms for the autocorrelation formulation of linear prediction are presented and analyzed. The algorithms are evaluated in terms of the number of arithmetic operations and interprocessor data ...

Linear predictive coding with modified filter structures

IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, 2001
In conventional one-step forward linear prediction, an estimate for the current sample value is formed as a linear combination of previous sample values. In this paper, a generalized form of this scheme is studied. Here, the prediction is not based simply on the previous sample values but on the signal history as seen through an arbitrary filterbank ...

A novel approach to estimating excitation code in code-excited linear prediction coding

ICASSP '86. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
This paper describes a new method for selecting the excitation codes and estimating the long-term prediction coefficients simultaneously in a simplified code-excited linear prediction coding suitable for a low bit rate transmission. Since the prediction of the long-term coefficients and the replacement of the prediction error signal with the noise ...

Code excited linear predictive vocoder

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992
Apparatus for encoding speech using a code excited linear predictive (CELP) encoder using a recursive computational unit. In response to a target excitation vector that models a present frame of speech, the computational unit utilizes a finite impulse response linear predictive coding (LPC) filter and an overlapping codebook to determine a candidate ...

Linear predictive speech coding arrangement

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1990
A speech analyzer is adapted to produce speech parameter signals from a Pth order autocorrelation analysis of a speech pattern in a digital signal processor. The analyzer includes a plurality of memories of predetermined arrangement to store feature vector signals used in the analysis, a single set of coded signals for controlling the analysis, and a ...

Linear Prediction Techniques in Speech Coding

1991
Recent advances in speech coding algorithms and techniques based on the use of linear prediction now permit high quality voice reproduction at remarkably low bit rates. This paper reviews some of the main ideas underlying the algorithms of major interest today. The concept of removing redundancy by linear prediction is reviewed, first in the context of
