Optimal Positioning Coordination for Multiple Linear Switched Reluctance Machines

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2017
This paper proposes a coordinated positioning control network for three direct drive, linear switched reluctance machines. To obtain the optimized network control parameters, the distributed linear quadratic regulator is applied. Different communication topologies are studied for both the dynamic tracking and the coordination performance of the network.

Fuzzy PID control for the linear switched reluctance machine

2013 5th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications(PESA), 2013
This paper investigates the fuzzy control method for the linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) drive system. Modeling of the LSRM is constructed based on the finite element method (FEM) environment Maxwell and the control system is analyzed by the co-simulation environment with Simplorer.

Performance analysis of a hybrid linear switched reluctance machine

2015 IEEE Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2015
The linear switched reluctance machine (LSRM) has the merits of low cost, simple structure and mechanical robustness [1]. It is one of the most promising candidates in the direct-drive applications such as linear transportation and position control systems [2-3]. However, they are limited to some special use due to their inherently low propulsion force

On the feasible polygon classifications of linear switched reluctance machines

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 1999
This paper provides a systematic guidance for linear switched reluctance machine design. By classifying the feasible polygons for desired machine operations, the physical size limits of either longitudinal or transverse flux linear machine poles and pole pitches can be determined.

Analysis and modeling for the linear hybrid switched reluctance machine

2015 IEEE Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2015
To enhance the force-to-volume ratio and alleviate force ripples for the linear machines based on switched reluctance principle, a linear hybrid switched reluctance motor (LHSRM) which has doubly salient poles of the mover only embedded with a permanent magnet (PM) is proposed and the three modes of the force output of the proposed machine is analyzed.

A novel high force density linear Segemented switched reluctance machine

2008 34th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2008
Linear switched reluctance machine (LSRM) has low force density, high acoustic noise and low energy conversion ratio. In this paper a novel linear segmented switched reluctance machine (LSSRM) having high force density and energy conversion ratio is proposed. This machine has segmented rotor and full pitch winding on the stator.

A Transverse-Flux Single-Phase Tubular Switched Reluctance Linear Machine With 4 Poles

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2021
Transverse-flux structure is a potential choice for switched reluctance linear machines (SRLMs) to enhance electromagnetic thrust density. A transverse-flux single-phase SRLM combined with tubular shape, which is a tubular SRLM (TSRLM), is proposed in this paper.

Positioning control of direct-drive linear switched reluctance machine system

IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017
This paper addresses the positioning control problem for a direct-drive linear switched reluctance machine (LSRM) system based on the vectorization technique. The stability conditions for LSRM motion control system are obtained based on Lyapunov stability theory.

Simulation of switched reluctance machine for linear and nonlinear model

2011 International Conference on Computer, Communication and Electrical Technology (ICCCET), 2011
A mathematical model has been designed for a Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) using Matlab / Simulink environment. Normally, a model simulates only a specific number of stator and rotor poles but in this paper a general model is considered and the simulation is performed with various number of stator and rotor poles.

Sensorless control of a linear reciprocating switched-reluctance electric machine

Russian Electrical Engineering, 2017
It is proposed to use a simple switched-reluctance electric machine that does not have windings or permanent magnets on a movable part to develop a linear reciprocating electric machine intended for use as an electric generator together with a free-piston internal-combustion engine. It is noted that one of the most difficult problems in the development
