Scalable Control Design for K-positive Linear Systems [PDF]
Systems whose variable are constrained to be positive allow computationally efficient control design. We generalize these results to linear systems which leave a cone invariant. This is a wider class of systems than positive systems. We revisit classical results on stability and dissipativity of positive linear systems and show how scalable conditions ...

Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Classifications of Linear Controlled Systems [PDF]
This paper is devoted to a study of linear, differential and topological classifications for linear controlled systems governed by ordinary differential equations. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the linear and topological equivalence are given. It is also shown that the differential equivalence is the same as the linear equivalence for the

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

How Linear Is a Linear System?
Often, when testing structures, engineers assume the experimental system only exhibits linear behavior. This linear assumption means that the modal frequency and damping of the structure do not change with response level. In many assembled structures, components are connected through bolted joints. These systems behave in a weakly nonlinear fashion due

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

On finite time delay dependent stability of linear discrete delay systems: Numerical solution approach [PDF]
In this paper, a possible solution of the basic nonlinear quadratic matrix equation was proposed. The solution is crucial in the formulation of the particular criteria for the delay-dependent finite time stability of discrete time delay systems ...

Linear time logic control of linear systems with disturbances [PDF]
The formal analysis and design of control systems is one of recent trends in control theory. In this area, in order to reduce the complexity and scale of control systems, finite abstractions of control systems are introduced and explored. In non-disturbance case, the controller of control systems is often generated from the controller of finite ...

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.
