Comparative Performance of Poly(Vinyl Alcohol)/Chitosan Hydrogels Reinforced With Kraft Lignin and Kraft Lignin Nanoparticles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
The use of kraft lignin and kraft lignin nanoparticles in poly(vinyl alcohol)/chitosan hydrogels was comprehensively compared. The results showed that a higher loading of lignin nanoparticles than bulk kraft lignin could be incorporated while maintaining favorable hydrogel properties, leading to improved overall performance. ABSTRACT The development of

Zn/Al‐NO3 Layered Double Hydroxide as Alternative Activator for Nitrile Rubber Vulcanization: Effect of the Accelerator‐to‐Sulfur Ratio on Curing Kinetics and Network Properties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Zn/Al‐NO3 layered double hydroxide offers a low‐zinc alternative for sulfur vulcanization of nitrile rubber, reducing nominal zinc loading by an estimated 71%. Its potential as a vulcanization activator depends on the curing system: conventional curing preserves tensile strength despite slower kinetics, whereas efficient curing maintains comparable ...
