Linear viscoelasticity of weakly cross-linked hydrogels
Journal of rheology, 2019Chemically cross-linked polyacrylamide (PA) hydrogels have been studied extensively, but gels with a very low cross-linker ratio have received relatively little attention.

A linear viscoelasticity problem with a singular memory kernel: an existence and uniqueness result
Differential and Integral Equations, 2013The model of linear viscoelasticity is of wide interest in applications since it allows one to model the deformation problem in the case in which memory effects cannot be neglected. Various books, such as [4, 27, 28, 18] to mention only a few, provide an

Simple finite strain versions of the Maxwell and Kelvin‐Voigt viscoelastic solids are investigated within the framework of continuum mechanics. Three‐dimensional constitutive equations are examined with two different measures of the strain‐rate tensor: the standard Eulerian strain rate and the Jaumann rate of the logarithmic strain tensor. The analysis

Linear Viscoelasticity and Swelling of Polyelectrolyte Complex Coacervates
Macromolecules, 2012Mixing oppositely charged hydrophilic polyelectrolytes is the simplest path to constructing a polyampholyte gel that is useful as a soft tissue scaffold for binding enzymes in their native state.

Linear viscoelasticity of colloidal suspensions
Physical Review A, 1992We develop a phenomenological theory of the dynamic viscosity of colloidal suspensions, based on an extrapolation of the low-frequency behavior by use of a continued-fraction representation. In lowest approximation the dynamic viscosity depends on a small number of parameters, which may be determined experimentally.

When a stress or a strain is impressed upon a body, rearrangements take place inside the material by which it responds to the imposed excitation. In any real material these rearrangements necessarily require a finite time. The time required, however, may be very short or very long.
