The task of analytic-synthetic process of text information cannot be solved without deep knowledge about the structure of language, without using a deep linguistic processor, processing morphology and syntax as well as semantics of language. On the stage of semantic analysis methods and algorithms of the theory of categories and predicate algebra are ...

Journal of Language and Social Psychology, 2008
The linguistic category model (LCM) is highlighted from 3 interrelated perspectives: (a) as a functional tool with distinctive properties that have evolved to link language producers and perceivers and, therefore, adapted to both; (b) within a general framework of linguistic behavior and an analysis of the architecture of linguistic behavior that ...

Pinning down attributions: the linguistic category model applied to wrestling reports
European Journal of Social Psychology, 1999Implicit attributions in media coverage of wrestling events are investigated. A special feature of show wrestling is a separation in morally good fighters who win because of their intrinsic goodness and morally bad fighters who win by bending the rules. Thus, show wrestling can be characterized by the attributions it affords. Linguistic abstractness as

Chinese Semiotic Studies, 2010
Abstract Peircean Semiotics is inaccessible to most people for its triadic logic system of categories and model of signs. Author of this paper tries to understand it through a historical view of logic systems of categories and interpret Peircean semiotics and its applications in linguistic studies.
