Locally Adaptive Link Prediction

2016
In this chapter, we address the shortcomings of the existing link prediction similarity measures; every similarity measure assigns the same weight to a node irrespective of the pair of nodes between which the similarity is being computed. In contrast, the weight of a node must depend based on the local neighborhood of the node pair under consideration.

Wideband Adaptive Feedforward Photonic Link

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2008
We present the first demonstration of an adaptive wideband radio-frequency (RF) photonic link architecture suitable for high-dynamic-range microwave signal fiber optic transport. The architecture incorporates feedforward (FF) linearization to correct the electrical-to-optical (E/O) conversion nonlinearity as well as optimized control loops that enable ...

Link Dependent Adaptive Radio

2015
In this paper, telemetry communication system parameters are adapted based on the channel conditions to allow transmission of higher data rates compared to the baseline that is dened in integrated networked telemetry (iNET) project. This project is funded by Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) and in collaboration with Georgia Tech Research ...

Adaptive Networks with Noisy Links

2011 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference - GLOBECOM 2011, 2011
In biological systems, animals exhibit organized behavior that arises from localized interactions. The interaction is implemented through information exchange, either directly or indirectly. Adaptive networks, consisting of a collection of nodes with learning abilities that interact with each other to solve distributed inference problems in real-time ...

Link Adaptation in LTE Systems

2015
This chapter explains the link adaptation mechanism used in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. For downlink data transmission in LTE systems, the Base Station usually selects modulation scheme and code rate depending on the prediction of the downlink channel conditions.

Adaptive Visualization of Linked-Data

2014
Adaptive visualizations reduces the required cognitive effort to comprehend interactive visual pictures and amplify cognition. Although the research on adaptive visualizations grew in the last years, the existing approaches do not consider the transformation pipeline from data to visual representation for a more efficient and effective adaptation ...

Versatile Link Adaptation Based on Mutual Information

2010 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2010
This paper considers a flexible frequency-selective link adaptation scheme for dynamic scheduling systems. Adaptation is performed based on mutual information metrics imposing no constraints on the scheduling and resource allocation. The proposed bit loading algorithm adjusts the codeword length to the available resource units such that codewords may ...

TCP with Adaptive Radio Link

2005
The performance of TCP over wireless links could degrade due to handoff, high bit error rate and long roundtrip delay on the air interface. The conventional Radio Link Protocol uses fixed channel coding and ARQ to mitigate impairment over wireless channels.

An Example: Collaborative Link Adaptation

2012
A wireless communications link consists of a transmitter–receiver pair, and the wireless medium via which information is transferred. The general goal of link adaptation is to maximize the information bit rate per transmitted watt of power subject to a set of constraints.
