The signature and cusp geometry of hyperbolic knots [PDF]
We introduce a new real-valued invariant called the natural slope of a hyperbolic knot in the 3-sphere, which is defined in terms of its cusp geometry.

Geometry of alternating links on surfaces
We consider links that are alternating on surfaces embedded in a compact 3-manifold. We show that under mild restrictions, the complement of the link decomposes into simpler pieces, generalising the polyhedral decomposition of alternating links of Menasco.

Summary In this contribution, we propose a detailed study of interpolation‐based data‐driven methods that are of relevance in the model reduction and also in the systems and control communities. The data are given by samples of the transfer function of the underlying (unknown) model, that is, we analyze frequency‐response data.

Compact phase space, cosmological constant, discrete time [PDF]
We study the quantization of geometry in the presence of a cosmological constant, using a discretiza- tion with constant-curvature simplices. Phase space turns out to be compact and the Hilbert space finite dimensional for each link.

Geometry of biperiodic alternating links
A biperiodic alternating link has an alternating quotient link in the thickened torus. In this paper, we focus on semi-regular links, a class of biperiodic alternating links whose hyperbolic structure can be immediately determined from a corresponding Euclidean tiling. Consequently, we determine the exact volumes of semi-regular links.

Refilling meridians in a genus 2 handlebody complement [PDF]
Suppose a genus two handlebody is removed from a 3-manifold M and then a single meridian of the handlebody is restored. The result is a knot or link complement in M and it is natural to ask whether geometric properties of the link complement say ...

Vacuum Solutions of Classical Gravity on Cyclic Groups from Noncommutative Geometry [PDF]
Based on the observation that the moduli of a link variable on a cyclic group modify Connes' distance on this group, we construct several action functionals for this link variable within the framework of noncommutative geometry.

The size of triangulations supporting a given link [PDF]
Let T be a triangulation of S^3 containing a link L in its 1-skeleton. We give an explicit lower bound for the number of tetrahedra of T in terms of the bridge number of L.
