Power budget and system performance analysis of the pof link for future avionic applications

More link performance measurement data and test patterns for different cases under extended and normal operating conditions have been analyzed.

A joint power optimization method is proposed for the downlink in point-to-multipoint structure based on digital subcarriers. 2.3 dB power budget gain was achieved experimentally with eight 4 GBaud 16QAM subcarriers with a distance difference of 24 km.

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2014We demonstrate 23-dB power budget of a 20-km unamplified optical access system using a 1.54-μm, 10-Gb/s VCSEL. It is enabled by using continuous-phase frequency-shift keying/amplitude-shift keying format, DC-balanced line coding, and avalanche photo-detector.
