Modeling Transmission Properties of FSO Links: Slow Fades
2007 17th International Conference Radioelektronika, 2007The paper deals with modeling of transmission properties of free space optical digital links. Laser beam used for data transmission is a subject to several atmospheric phenomena that cause fades. Long fades are caused by precipitation (fog, heavy rain, snow).

Link Transmission Model for Air Traffic Flow Management
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2011solution with the dual decomposition method converges to the global optimum. The major contribution of the proposed modeling and optimization framework is that it is about 6 times faster than a previously developed largecapacity cell transmission model.

Analytical Modeling of Nonlinear Propagation in Uncompensated Optical Transmission Links
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2011We present analytical results on the impact of nonlinear propagation in uncompensated links. We test the accuracy of our model in the context of ultradense wavelength-division-multiplexing polarization-multiplexed quadrature phase-shift keying (PM-QPSK) systems, at the Nyquist spectral efficiency limit.

An implicit solution scheme for the Link Transmission Model
16th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC 2013), 2013Dynamic network loading (DNL) models are at the core of a wide variety of optimization schemes and network analysis tools. In practice this calls for fast and efficient methods to calculate traffic states for various levels of accuracy and numerous adaptations to the boundary conditions.

Variable-Length Link Transmission Model for Traffic Flow Management
AIAA Infotech@Aerospace 2010, 2010A Variable-Length Link Transmission Model for Tra c Flow Management (TFM) is developed and implemented. The model is derived from the spatial reduction of a Multicommodity Large Capacity Cell Transmission Model for en route tra c. Like the Cell Transmission Model, our Link Transmission Model is based on an aggregation of historical air tra c data, and ...

New model of laser diode for optical link transmission
2012 6th International Conference on Sciences of Electronics, Technologies of Information and Telecommunications (SETIT), 2012A new PSPICE model for laser diode has been determined, which represents a basic element in the digital transmission using optical fiber links compared to the diode LED which has a less optical power. It is necessary to control the optical power emitted by the laser diode before connecting it with the optical fiber.

Neural modeling of link occupancy for wireless transmissions using Markov reward models
2014 4th International Conference on Wireless Communications, Vehicular Technology, Information Theory and Aerospace & Electronic Systems (VITAE), 2014The paper is devoted to neural modeling of link occupancy distribution. Multi-service (i.e., bandwidth sharing between different traffic classes) models of a single, possibly wireless transmission link for rigid, adaptive and elastic traffic are developed based on Markov reward models.

Link Transmission Model-Based Linear Programming Formulation for Network Design
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2018This article presents a linear programming formulation to solve the network design problem using the link transmission model (LTM) as the underlying traffic flow model. The original LTM was adapted by incorporating link-sending and receiving flows using linear inequalities.

Electrical modeling of inductive links for high-efficiency energy transmission
2005 12th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2005This paper presents an innovative modeling method for the mutual inductance of two magnetically coupled coils in an inductive link, ensuring efficient energy and data transmission in implantable electronic devices. An electrical model, which can be used within a circuit simulator, directly takes into account the lateral and longitudinal displacements ...

Variable Speed Limit Control Based on Extended Link Transmission Model
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2013In this paper the link transmission model (LTM) is extended to include the effects of variable speed limit (VSL) and consequently to provide VSL control for traffic networks modeled by the LTM. The LTM was recently developed for route assignment, but in this study the LTM was modified to be used for control purposes. This modification achieved a model
