Hierarchical-ring application layer multicast model based on diff-services
To improve the efficiency of application layer multicast (ALM), an hierarchical-ring ALM model based on diff-services (HRM) was presented. In the model, the ring topology was employed to reduce the control overhead.

TCP over low-power and lossy networks: tuning the segment size to minimize energy consumption
Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLNs), like wireless networks based upon the IEEE 802.15.4 standard, have strong energy constraints, and are moreover subject to frequent transmission errors, not only due to congestion but also to collisions and to radio ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

The Ross-Mcdonald model revisited: linking transmission and within-host dynamics
Abstract We present a model that explicitly links the epidemiological Ross-Macdonald model with a simple immunological model through a virus inoculation term that depends on the abundance of infected mosquitoes. We explore the relationship between the reproductive numbers at the population (between-host) and individual level (within-host), in ...

Channel modelling for free-space optical inter-HAP links using adaptive ARQ transmission [PDF]
Free-space optical (FSO) communication systems have seen significant developments in recent years due to growing need for very high data rates and tap-proof communication. The operation of an FSO link is suited to diverse variety of applications such as satellites, High Altitude Platforms (HAPs), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), aircrafts, ground ...

Partner selection in indoor-to-outdoor cooperative networks: an experimental study
In this paper, we develop a partner selection protocol for enhancing the network lifetime in cooperative wireless networks. The case-study is the cooperative relayed transmission from fixed indoor nodes to a common outdoor access point.
