A molecular linkage map of rye
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1996A genetic map of six chromosomes of rye, (all of the rye chromosomes except for 2R), was constructed using 77 RFLP and 12 RAPD markers. The map was developed using an F2 population of 54 plants from a cross between two inbred lines. A rye genomic library was constructed as a source of clones for RFLP mapping.

Linkage Disequilibrium and Association Mapping
Annual Review of Genomics and Human Genetics, 2008Linkage disequilibrium refers to the association between alleles at different loci. The standard definition applies to two alleles in the same gamete, and it can be regarded as the covariance of indicator variables for the states of those two alleles. The corresponding correlation coefficient ρ is the parameter that arises naturally in discussions of ...

LINKAGE MAP IN KIWIFRUIT: THE CHOICE OF MAPPING POPULATIONS
Acta Horticulturae, 2003A genetic map of kiwifruit (Actinidia spp.) was constructed using microsatellite and AFLP markers and the pseudo-test-cross mapping strategy. Some 105 microsatellite loci, of the 251 isolated from A. chinensis, segregated in the interspecific cross A. chinensis x A. callosa in a 1:1 ratio or in a ratio that could mimic the classical backcross, and were

Five new linkage groups in the canine linkage map
Animal Genetics, 1999Nineteen further polymorphic loci were typed on the DogMap reference panel. Five new linkage groups were identified. Additionally, five markers were added to earlier defined linkage groups. Three of the new linkage groups contain markers mapped earlier to specific dog chromosomes by physical mapping.

Linkage and linkage disequilibrium mapping of ERP and EEG phenotypes
Biological Psychology, 2002Linkage analyses of highly heritable electrophysiological phenotypes (EEG, ERP) that can potentially identify individuals at risk for alcoholism were performed on a large sample of families with a high density of alcohol dependence as part of the Collaborative Study on the Genetics of Alcoholism (COGA); these genetic findings are summarized ...

Bayesian Multilocus Linkage Mapping
1988The construction of mammalian genetic maps entails finding solutions to a number of distinct but interrelated problems. First, linkage to the correct chromosome and chromosomal region must be established, and linkage to other chromosomal regions must be excluded.

Combined linkage and linkage disequilibrium mapping for genome screens
Genetic Epidemiology, 2000Linkage analysis and association studies, two major approaches for genetic studies of human diseases, are useful for mapping genes that are highly penetrant, but both use only part of the information that is available for mapping disease genes. Therefore, they provide limited utility when used alone.

Linkage Disequilibrium Maps and Disease-Association Mapping
2007Over the last few years, association mapping of disease genes has developed into one of the most dynamic research areas of human genetics. It focuses on identifying functional polymorphisms that predispose to complex diseases. Population-based approaches are concerned with exploiting linkage disequilibrium (LD) between single-nucleotide polymorphism ...
