Connectivity Analysis Software for Estimating Linkage Priority

open access: yes, 2018
Linkage Priority (LP) is an ArcGIS tool that helps quantify the relative conservation priority of each linkage in a landscape. LP is run after linkages are created using the Linkage Pathways tool of the Linkage Mapper Toolbox (McRae and Kavanagh 2011). (The implementation of this original Linkage Mapper tool is hereafter symbolized as “LM”).

Mechanistic basis for inhibition of the extended‐spectrum β‐lactamase GES‐1 by enmetazobactam and tazobactam

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is of huge importance, resulting in over 1 million deaths each year. Here, we describe how a new drug, enmetazobactam, designed to help fight resistant bacterial diseases, inhibits a key enzyme (GES‐1) responsible for AMR. Our data show it is a more potent inhibitor than the related tazobactam, with high‐level computation

Towards business integration as a service 2.0 (BIaaS 2.0) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Cloud Computing Business Framework (CCBF) is a framework for designing and implementation of Could Computing solutions. This proposal focuses on how CCBF can help to address linkage in Cloud Computing implementations.

C9orf72 ALS‐causing mutations lead to mislocalization and aggregation of nucleoporin Nup107 into stress granules

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutations in the C9orf72 gene represent the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disease. Using patient‐derived neurons and C. elegans models, we find that the nucleoporin Nup107 is dysregulated in C9orf72‐associated ALS. Conversely, reducing Nup107 levels mitigates disease‐related changes.

DLforum – A multidisciplinary online discussion forum for data linkage researchers and practitioners

open access: yesInternational Journal of Population Data Science, 2018
Data linkage, the process of identifying records that refer to the same entities across databases, is a crucial component of Population Data Science. Data linkage has a history going back over fifty years with many different methods and techniques being ...

Genetic analysis of a large Han Chinese family line with schizoaffective psychosis

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
To locate the specific susceptibility genes of a high incidence of schizoaffective disease (SAD) with autonomic dominant inheritance, we recruited a family group from Henan Province with a high incidence of SAD, including 19 individuals sampled from five

A survey of popular R packages for cluster analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Cluster analysis is a set of statistical methods for discovering new group/class structure when exploring datasets. This article reviews the following popular libraries/commands in the R software language for applying different types of cluster analysis:

From lactation to malignancy: A comparison between healthy and cancerous breast gland at single‐cell resolution reveals new issues for tumorigenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing reveals an opposite role of SLPI in basal tumors based on metastatic spread, along with shared activation of specific regulons in cancer cells and mature luminal lactocytes, as well as downregulation of MALAT1 and NEAT1 in the latter.

Integrated analysis of genetic data with R

open access: yesHuman Genomics, 2006
Genetic data are now widely available. There is, however, an apparent lack of concerted effort to produce software systems for statistical analysis of genetic data compared with other fields of statistics.

Chromosomal-level assembly of the Asian Seabass genome using long sequence reads and multi-layered scaffolding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report here the ~670 Mb genome assembly of the Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer), a tropical marine teleost. We used long-read sequencing augmented by transcriptomics, optical and genetic mapping along with shared synteny from closely related fish ...
