The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1986Clinicians should distinguish between hereditary and non-hereditary angioedema, as management of patients varies significantly with each. As many patients with hereditary angioedema have had serious episodes of edema associated with dental procedures, it is important that dentists understand the nature of this disease and its treatment.

Persistent Swelling of the Lower Lip
Archives of Dermatology, 1988REPORT OF A CASE A 62-year-old woman was well until eight weeks prior to evaluation when she develped, over a 24-hour period, painless edema of the lower lip without any provoking incident (Fig 1). The edema was more pronounced in the morning, with partial resolution later in the day.
