Target‐site mutations and phenotypic failure in Myzus persicae against pyrethroids and carbamates in central Europe

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Molecular screening of 140 field‐collected Myzus persicae aphids revealed target‐site mutations L1014F, M918L, M918T, and L932F in the sodium channel and S431F in Ace2. The M918L mutation was the primary driver of high pyrethroid (cypermethrin) resistance, while S431F served as a definitive marker for carbamate (pirimicarb) resistance.

Ruolo del sequenziamento diretto nella tipizzazione di HCV-RNA a fini clinico-epidemiologici

open access: yesMicrobiologia Medica, 2007
Background/Aims: Genotyping and subtyping of hepatitis C virus (HCV) is epidemiologically and clinically relevant to prognosis and therapeutical management of HCV infection.Aim was to study the feasibility of an “in house” direct sequencing method for ...

Intensity of bouted and sporadic physical activity and the metabolic syndrome in adults [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2015
Background. Physical activity guidelines for adults only recognize the health benefits of accumulating bouted moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), or MVPA occurring over at least 10 consecutive minutes.

CIB1-GFP overexpression rescues LIPA-α-synΔNAC light-induced aggregation.

open access: yes, 2022
(A) Confocal microscopy images illustrating HEK-293T cells overexpressing LIPA-α-synΔNAC alone or with CIB1-GFP exposed to blue light for 2 hours. Only cells overexpressing LIPA-α-synΔNAC and CIB1 showed mCherry-positive inclusions. These inclusions were

Metabolic Profiling of Circulating and Tumour‐Infiltrating T Cells Uncovers Bioenergetic Checkpoints Linked With Immune and Clinical Skewing in Melanoma Patients

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
In this study, we revealed the disturbed metabolic status of circulating and tumour‐infiltrating CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in melanoma patients through targeted metabolomic and lipidomic (on sorted subsets) and at single cell level using the SCENITH method.

The association between 24‐hr movement patterns and self‐harm incidence in adolescence

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, EarlyView.
Background Self‐harm is a pressing public health issue, particularly among adolescents. Physical activity is associated with reduced self‐harm among youths, but evidence is limited. Most studies rely on self‐reported measures and are primarily focused on moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA), often overlooking the role of light‐intensity ...

GWAS LIPA variants in coronary artery diseases: loss of function or gain of function?

open access: yesArteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, 2017
Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have identified multiple coronary artery disease (CAD) risk loci, yet moving from association to mechanistic insights and therapeutic translation remains a major challenge.

Association and interaction of APOA5, BUD13, CETP, LIPA and health-related behavior with metabolic syndrome in a Taiwanese population

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
Increased risk of developing metabolic syndrome (MetS) has been associated with the APOA5, APOC1, BRAP, BUD13, CETP, LIPA, LPL, PLCG1, and ZPR1 genes.

Comparison of Sanger sequencing for hepatitis C virus genotyping with a commercial line probe assay in a tertiary hospital

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2019
Background The technique most frequently used to genotype HCV is quantitative RT-PCR. This technique is unable to provide an accurate genotype/subtype for many samples; we decided to develop an in-house method with the goal of accurately identifying the ...
