Encapsulation of lipases in aerogels
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2001Abstract Pseudomonas cepacia (PC) lipase was encapsulated in silica and aluminosilicate gels made by different chemical processes. Some samples were dried by the supercritical method in CO 2 to obtain aerogels, while other ones made by the same wet chemical procedure were dried by evaporation to produce xerogels.

Lipases are highly active in the polymerization of a range of monomers. Both ring-opening polymerization of cyclic monomers such as lactones and carbonates as well as polycondensation reactions have been investigated in great detail. Moreover, in combination with other (chemical) polymerization techniques, lipase-catalyzed polymerization has been ...

5 Lipoprotein Lipase and Hepatic Lipase
1983Publisher Summary This chapter reviews information on the two major lipolytic enzymes in postheparin plasma, lipoprotein lipase (LpL), and hepatic triglyceride lipase (H-TGL), particularly focusing on their structure, mechanism of action, and role in lipoprotein metabolism.
