Pyrazole‐Derived Antibacterial Compounds Effectively Treat Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Infections by Inhibiting Aspartate Transcarbamoylase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unveils a novel antibacterial mechanism against MRSA, in which the compound Py‐27 selectively targets and inhibits aspartate transcarbamoylase (ATCase), a key enzyme in pyrimidine synthesis. This inhibition disrupts DNA replication, induces oxidative damage, leading to potent bactericidal activity.

Chimeric IL‐6/4R‐LL37 Engineered Macrophages Achieve Synchronized Inflammation Control and Antimicrobial Defence in Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered macrophages programmed in situ by LNP‐delivered IL‐6/4 fusion and LL37 mRNAs simultaneously dampen cytokine storm, promote M2‐like repair, and enhance direct bacterial killing in sepsis. This combinatorial strategy restores T cell and macrophage function, lowers organ bacterial burden, and improves survival, highlighting a precision, host ...

Lipoid pneumonia: a narrative review of recent developments

open access: yesItalian Journal of Medicine
Lipoid pneumonia is an uncommon pulmonary condition resulting from the accumulation of lipids within the alveolar spaces. It is classified as exogenous when caused by aspiration or inhalation of lipid-containing substances or endogenous when lipids ...

Pneumonia lipóide exógena: importância da história clínica no diagnóstico Exogenous lipoid pneumonia: importance of clinical history to the diagnosis

open access: yesJornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia, 2006
A pneumonia lipóide é uma doença rara, resultante da microaspiração de formulações lipídicas. Para seu diagnóstico, o grau de suspeição clínica deve ser elevado.

A Biofabricated Human Acinus‐on‐a‐Chip Unveils Mechanotransductive Drivers of Ventilator‐Induced Lung Injury via Decoupling Volutrauma and Barotrauma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This bioinspired acinus‐on‐a‐chip recapitulates VILI pathology, revealing that volutrauma drives P53/NF‐κB pathways while barotrauma triggers mitochondrial‐Wnt dysregulation. A fibrotic transitional cell cluster was identified. Pharmacological interventions targeting these pathways significantly ameliorated injury, establishing a mechanobiological ...

Targeting the NR1D1–IGF2BP2–V‐ATPase Axis With Hybrid Nanovesicles Restores Macrophage Rhythms to Reverse Sepsis‐Induced Immunosuppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sepsis disrupts immune‐cell rhythms and weakens bacterial clearance. Biomimetic nanovesicles combining erythrocyte and inflammation‐activated macrophage membranes deliver siNR1D1 to dysfunctional macrophages, restoring the NR1D1–IGF2BP2–V‐ATPase pathway, circadian regulation, phagolysosomal acidification, and antimicrobial defense.

CAR‐Engineered Cell Therapies Beyond Cancer: Reprogramming Fibrosis and Immune‐Mediated Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CAR‐engineered cell therapies are expanding beyond cancer toward immune resetting, pathological‐cell clearance, matrix remodeling, and microenvironmental reprogramming in autoimmune, inflammatory, and fibrotic diseases. This Review compares CAR‐T, CAR‐macrophage, and CAR‐NK platforms and proposes controllable spatiotemporal reprogramming to align ...

Periodontitis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: A critical appraisal

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract In spite of intensive research efforts driving spectacular advances in terms of prevention and treatments, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain a leading health burden, accounting for 32% of all deaths (World Health Organization. “Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs).” WHO, February 1, 2017, https://www.who.int/news‐room/fact‐sheets/detail ...

Extrinsic lipoid pneumonia due to chronic polyethylene glycol consumption: A case report.

open access: yes, 2023
Extrinsic lipoid pneumonia (ELP) results from the aspiration of lipid-containing substances. Tissue or cell histopathology after Oil-Red-O staining can confirm the diagnosis, which requires proper tissue handling and preparation during bronchoscopy. Here,

Magneto‐Sono‐Enhanced Nanozyme Catalysis Drives ROS‐Mediated Pathogen Killing and Mitophagy‐Linked Inflammation Control in Bacterial Pneumonia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nebulized BN@NF nanozymes integrate boron nanosheets with Nd‐doped iron phosphide to form a sono‐magneto‐responsive Z‐scheme heterostructure. Under ultrasound and magnetic activation, BN@NF amplifies ROS generation, eradicates bacteria, disrupts biofilms, and reshapes pulmonary inflammation through NF‐κB suppression, mitophagy promotion, and M1‐to‐M2 ...
