Radiomics approach to distinguish between well differentiated liposarcomas and lipomas on MRI

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), Volume 106, Issue 13, Page 1800-1809, December 2019., 2019
The distinction between well differentiated liposarcomas and lipomas is needed in order to provide the correct treatment approach for patients with these tumours, but is difficult to make without a biopsy. This study shows that radiomics can be used to make this distinction based on routinely obtained MRI. The resulting radiomics model performed better

Lip, a Human Gene Detected by Transfection of DNA From a Human Liposarcoma Encodes a Protein With Homology to Regulators of Small G Proteins

open access: yesSarcoma, Volume 2, Issue 1, Page 35-44, 1998., 1998
Purpose/Method. Transfection experiments have been used to identify activated oncogenes in a wide variety of tumour types. Here we describe the use of transfection experiments utilizing DNA from a human pleomorphic liposarcoma to identify a novel gene, designated lip which maps to chromosome 19. Results.
