Intracranial lipomas are very rare, probably congenital lesions. Though they can occur anywhere in the intracranial space, a good proportion of cases tend to be located around the midline. Review of the literature as well as our own three cases--which forms the basis of this article--shows that they are mostly asymptomatic.

We reviewed 15 years of experience with gastrointestinal (GI) lipomas at our institution. A series of eight patients was included, six of whom had lipomas in the colon and two, in the stomach. All eight patients were symptomatic. The diagnosis was not made preoperatively in seven cases, which accounted for surgical intervention in these patients ...

Intraosseous lipoma is the rarest benign primary tumor of bone. The incidence is less than one per 1,000 bone tumors. Because of its rarity and non-specific clinicopathologic findings, large biopsy specimens are needed for an accurate diagnosis. Once diagnosis has been established, a conservative treatment protocol is mandatory.

AbstractLipomas of the parapharyngeal space provide both a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. They are extremely rare with only a few cases having been reported. We present the case of a right parapharyngeal space lipoma in a 69-year-old man that was excised via a transcervical approach.

In a previous clinico‐pathologic and prognostic study of a Swedish national series of liposarcoma the designation atypical lipoma was suggested for a group of well‐differentiated non‐metastasizing liposarcomas characterized by only moderate nuclear atypia. In the present report. 21 new cases of atypical lipoma are described.

We have described three cases of endobronchial lipoma, which is among the least common neoplasms found in the tracheobronchial tree. If these tumors, which occur most commonly in men, are not recognized early and removed, they may produce progressive bronchial obstruction and cause recurrent bouts of obstructive pneumonitis, irreversible bronchiectasis,

AbstractThough lipoma is a common tumor in many anatomic sites throughout the body, its occurrence in the nasopharynx is extremely rare, with only several cases being reported in the literature. We describe a 17‐year‐old female with a nasopharyngeal lipoma. The mass had been present for at least 5 years and, despite its large size, was asymptomatic.

A case of epicardial lipoma is presented. Coexisting coronary artery disease partly masked the symptoms by pointing to myocardial failure caused by compression from the tumor. An unexpectedly good result was achieved by combining excision of the lipoma with the planned coronary bypass procedure.

We report 2 cases of endobronchial lipomas diagnosed by biopsy through a fiberoptic bronchoscope. Its endoscopic differences with bronchial adenomas are analyzed. Computerized tomography contribution to differential diagnosis with other pulmonary tumors is reported.
