Linear regression model with a randomly censored predictor:Estimation procedures [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We consider linear regression model estimation where the covariate of interest is randomly censored. Under a non-informative censoring mechanism, one may obtain valid estimates by deleting censored observations. However, this comes at a cost of lost information and decreased efficiency, especially under heavy censoring.

Serum lipid profiles in acute myocardial infarction patients in Gorgan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Acute myocardial infarction is one of the important reasons of death and unhealthiness in the world. The present study was undertaken to investigate the changes in serum lipids and lipoproteins in patients with acute myocardial infarction. This study was

Childhood Obesity and Familial Hypercholesterolemia: Genetic Diseases that Contribute to Cardiovascular Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Childhood obesity occurs as the result of an imbalance between caloric intake and energy expenditure. Genetic risk factors for obesity have become an area of research due to its permanency.

Effects of high sucrose diet, gemfibrozil, and their combination on plasma paraoxonase 1 activity and lipid levels in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We investigated the influence of high sucrose diet (HSD) after 3 or 5 weeks of administration on paraoxonase 1 (PON1) activity in plasma of normolipidemic rats and the relationship between serum PON1 activity, triacylglycerides (TGs), HDL and total ...

FH-TabNet: Multi-Class Familial Hypercholesterolemia Detection via a Multi-Stage Tabular Deep Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a genetic disorder characterized by elevated levels of Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol or its associated genes. Early-stage and accurate categorization of FH is of significance allowing for timely interventions to mitigate the risk of life-threatening conditions.
