Revisiting the taxonomy and nomenclature of Phyla, a small genus of Verbenaceae

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, Volume 2025, Issue 12, December 2025.
Phyla is unique within Verbenaceae due to the presence of malpighiaceous hairs. Its taxonomy has long been marked by difficulties in defining species boundaries. The most recent revision of the genus recognized five species and three varieties. In this study, however, we recognize only two species and no varieties: P.

Synergistic Modulation of Microglial Polarization by Acteoside and Ferulic Acid via Dual Targeting of Nrf2 and RORγt to Alleviate Depression‐Associated Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 43, November 20, 2025.
Machine‐learning‐directed phytochemical pair ACT/FA, administered at BDD's orthodox ratio, synergistically modulates microglial polarization via dual Nrf2/RORγt targeting to attenuate neuroinflammation and depressive behaviors. This concentration‐dependent synergism replicates the parent formula's efficacy while providing a mechanistic basis for ...

Antiproliferative Constituents in Plants. 9. Aerial Parts of Lippia dulcis and Lippia canescens.

open access: yesBiological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2002
The antiproliferative constituents in the MeOH extracts of the aerial parts of Lippia dulcis Trev. and Lippia canescens Kunth (Verbenaceae) were investigated. Activity-guided chemical investigation of the MeOH extracts resulted in the isolation of the three bisabolane-type sesquiterpenes [(+)-hernandulcin (1), (-)-epihernandulcin (2), and (+)-anymol (3)
