On lipschitz continuity of quasiconformalmappings in space

Journal d'Analyse Mathématique, 2009
For a quasiconformal (qc) homeomorphism \(f: D \to D'\) between subdomains \(D, D' \subset \mathbb{R}^n\), \( n\geq 2\), let \(Z_f\) stand for the set of those points where the mapping \(f\) is not differentiable or where the Jacobian matrix is degenerate. It is a basic property that \(Z_f\) has \(n\)-dimensional measure zero.

Extensions of Continuous and Lipschitz Functions

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2000
AbstractWe show a result slightly more general than the following. Let K be a compact Hausdorff space, F a closed subset of K, and d a lower semi-continuous metric on K. Then each continuous function ƒ on F which is Lipschitz in d admits a continuous extension on K which is Lipschitz in d. The extension has the same supremum norm and the same Lipschitz

Lipschitz Continuity for Constrained Processes

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1979
We study Lipschitz continuity properties for “constrained processes”. As applications of our general theory, we consider mathematical programs and optimal control problems. We show that if thegradients of the binding constraints satisfy an independence condition, then the solution and the dual multipliers of a convex mathematical program are a ...

Lipschitz and Continuous Optimization

1990
In this chapter, we discuss global optimization problems where the functions in?volved are Lipschitz—continuous or have a related property on certain subsets M c ℝn. Section 1 presents a brief introduction into the most often treated univariate case. Section 2 is devoted to branch and bound methods.

An observer for switched Lipschitz continuous systems

International Journal of Control, 2013
In the present work, an alternative approach to the state observation problem for switched Lipschitz continuous systems is proposed. An observer that is based on a concept of observability weaker than that of the instantaneous observability is constructed. Moreover, no strong assumptions are made about the mathematical structure of the observed system.

Continuous and Lipschitz Functions

2011
Chapter 1 is intended to give the reader a fairly clear introduction to Part 3 of the book (Chapters 5{8) devoted to extensions of Lipschitz maps between metric spaces. This will be done on the basis of methods and results regarded as \classical" in this rather young field of modern analysis.
