Norm-induced cuts: outer approximation for Lipschitzian constraint functions
Abstract In this paper, we consider a finite-dimensional optimization problem minimizing a continuous objective on a compact domain subject to a multi-dimensional constraint function. For the latter, we assume the availability of a global Lipschitz constant.

Lipschitzian selections in best approximation by continuous functions
A set of conditions that would ensure the existence of Lipschitzian selections in approximation problems involving continuous functions is obtained and illustrated.

Some remarks on the space of differences of sublinear functions [PDF]
Two properties concerning the space of differences of sublinear functions D(X) for a real Banach space X are proved. First, we show that for a real separable Banach space (X,‖·‖) there exists a countable family of seminorms such that D(X) becomes a ...

Convergence results for a class of abstract continuous descent methods
We study continuous descent methods for the minimization of Lipschitzian functions defined on a general Banach space. We establish convergence theorems for those methods which are generated by approximate solutions to evolution equations governed by ...

Convex processes and resolution of variational inclusions [PDF]
L’objectif de cette thèse est d’utiliser le concept de processus convexe pour la résolution d’inclusions variationnelle où la partie multivoque est la somme de l’opposé d’un cône convexe fermé non vide et d’une multiapplication différentiable au sens de ...

Limit theorems for some doubly stochastic processes [PDF]
We consider the stochastic processes Xk+1 = [Gamma]k+1(Xk) + Wk+1 where {[Gamma]k} is a sequence of nonlinear random functions and {Wk} is a sequence of disturbances. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique invariant probability are obtained.

Observer-based control for time-varying delay neural networks with nonlinear observation [PDF]
This paper studies the problem of designing observer-based controllers for a class of delayed neural networks with nonlinear observation. The system under consideration is subject to nonlinear observation and an interval time-varying delay. The nonlinear
