Correlation Between Liquefaction Resistance and Shear Wave Velocity
ABSTRACT Undrained cyclic triaxial tests were conducted using various sands under different confining pressures, to establish a relation between liquefaction resistance and shear wave velocity or elastic shear modulus. The test results together with those of previous studies indicate that the correlation depends on such factors as soil type and ...

The explosion hazard of TBP and kerosene mixed vapor in the nuclear fuel reprocessing process is studied. The results enrich the explosion characteristics and explosion limits of TBP‐kerosene, and provide reference value and basis for the safety setting of the operation process and operating environment of nuclear fuel reprocessing plants ABSTRACT As ...

Evaluating liquefaction resistance of saturated sandy soils based on equivalent skeleton void ratio
In order to investigate the effect of physical properties on liquefaction resistance CRR, different types of saturated sandy soils (Fujian, Nanjing and Nantong sandy soils with different fines contents (FC)) are categorized as three different cases: (1 ...

Addressing the challenges inherent in dry reforming of methane (DRM), this paper focuses on the structural design and performance optimization of Ni‐based catalysts. The modulation strategies for DRM are systematically reviewed across four dimensions: the micromorphology of active metals, metal‐support interactions, electronic modifications by ...

On the undrained cyclic resistance of a partially saturated sand [PDF]
The undrained cyclic resistance of sandy soils is a key factor in controlling earthquake-induced damage. It is well established that the degree of saturation significantly influences the undrained behaviour of sands, as a reduction in saturation ...

Laser‐assisted in situ fabrication of atomically thin Ga2O3 films for dielectric applications
A confinement template‐assisted squeeze method, in conjunction with laser‐assisted in situ oxidation, facilitates fabrication of centimeter‐scale and atomically thin gallium oxide films from liquid gallium under room temperature conditions. This low‐damage approach avoids thermal degradation of sensitive materials and supports high‐performance field ...

Effect of Sustained Shear on Overburden Stress Correction in Liquefaction Resistance Evaluation
The Kσ correction factor has been routinely applied in the evaluation of liquefaction resistance of soils subjected to an overburden stress level other than 100 kPa. Its current prediction form is a function of, primarily, the overburden pressure and the

Interplay Between Green Investment and Market Price Premia in Global Shipping
ABSTRACT Existing research emphasises that the driver of green investment is its future profitability. This paper shows that other investors' decisions also influence green investment. We take the example of scrubber installation in shipping, which is optional by regulation but has an established market for trading its underlying asset.

Liquefaction resistance of unsaturated sands: Experimental evidence and theoretical interpretation
Cyclic undrained triaxial tests were carried out on saturated and unsaturated loose specimens of three fine-grained materials. The results confirm that, as the saturation degree decreases, liquefaction resistance sharply increases.
