Liquefaction and post-liquefaction resistance of sand reinforced with recycled geofibre

Geotextiles and Geomembranes, 2022
Abstract The present study provides an insight into the effect of recycled carpet fibre on the mechanical response of clean sand as backfill material subjected to monotonic loading and cyclic loading as well as post-liquefaction resistance of both unreinforced and carpet fibre reinforced soils.

Liquefaction Resistance of Biocemented Loess Soil

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2021
AbstractMicrobially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) is currently appraised to improve sandy soils, but only a few studies use it to solidify loess soil.

Liquefaction Resistance of Thickened Tailings

Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 1985
A new method is presented for analysis of the potential for triggering liquefaction, i.e., a flow slide, in liquefiable soil masses. The method is based on the principle of steady state deformation. In conventional mine tailings disposal operations, the tailings are pumped as a water suspension into extensive flat containment ponds.

Re‐assessing liquefaction resistance curves

Batiment International, Building Research and Practice, 1987
A major part of the US‐Japan Co‐operation Programme concerns earthquake research; results are presented here of a study of field practices in those countries and elsewhere of the Standard Penetration Test, in which the equipment and procedures used led to anomalies in energy ratios and N‐values.
