REGIONAL SEISMIC RISK ASSESSMENT INCLUDING LIQUEFACTION AND SEA LEVEL RISE

At a regional scale, damage and loss from earthquakes can come largely from ground failures driven by mechanisms such as liquefaction. Future rising sea levels are expected to raise the groundwater table in coastal areas, exacerbating liquefaction in the event of an earthquake.
