Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Preparation of β-carotene nanoparticles using supercritical CO2 anti-solvent precipitation by injection of liquefied gas feed solution

open access: yesJournal of CO2 Utilization
This study proposes to further exploit the potential of the carbon dioxide supercritical anti-solvent precipitation (SAS) process by using liquefied gas as a feed solvent in the SAS process.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

CONDUCTING RESEARCH ON PRODUCTION OF LIQUEFIED HYDROCARBONS FROM PETROLEUM GASES

open access: yes, 2021
The composition of associated gas differs greatly from each other when studied in the context of fields and depends on the type of fields and development conditions, i-liquefied gases are obtained not only from satellite gases, but also from gas ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...

Discussion on “Area source emissions: a validation study of CALPUFF and LAPMOD models”

open access: yesAtmospheric Environment: X
In the study by Tagliaferri et al. (2025) two air dispersion models for passive gases (CALPUFF and LAPMOD) have been validated against the release from area sources. We acknowledge the importance to validate those models – and others – with area sources,

Phase Equilibria Analysis in the Presence of Solid Carbon Dioxide

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2021
Carbon dioxide can be found in several gaseous streams, from which it has to be separated in order to meet commercial specifications or to comply with environmental regulations.

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
