Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Liquefied Natural Gas as an alternative fuel: a regional-level social cost-benefit appraisal [PDF]
The impact from traditional marine fuels has the potential of causing health and non-health damages and contributes to climate change. Here, the introduction of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as an energy end-use fuel for marine purposes is analysed.

Selected thermodynamic aspects of liquefied natural gas (LNG) pipeline flow during unloading process
Tyt. z nagłówka.Bibliogr. s. 286-[287].Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is transported by ships to unloading points on the LNG terminals, where the LNG is transported by above-ground superinsulated pipelines to storage tanks.

Energy Security in the EU and Beyond [PDF]
Past episodes of energy insecurity have been fleeting and the fears have been assuaged by market forces or technical change. This paper analyses the nature of the EU's current energy security problems, emphasising the increased importance of natural gas ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

We address the inherently weak particle adhesion of conventional air filters by coating a dynamically crosslinked adhesive layer that delivers capillarity‐driven strong adhesion and particle absorption mediated by dynamic bond exchange. The resulting enhancement in particle adhesion enables efficient ultrafast (up to 20 m s−1) and omnidirectional ...

Greenhouse Gas emissions of heavy-duty vehicles fuelled by natural gas
The aim of the present study is to compare the life cycle, in terms of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, of diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) used as fuels for heavy-duty vehicles in the European market (EU-15).
