Jahn-Teller orbital glass state in the expanded fcc Cs3C60 fulleride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The most expanded fcc-structured alkali fulleride, Cs3C60, is a Mott insulator at ambient pressure because of the weak overlap between the frontier t1u molecular orbitals of the C603− anions.

On the spin density wave transition in a two dimensional spin liquid

open access: yes, 1995
Strongly correlated two dimensional electrons are believed to form a spin liquid in some regimes of density and temperature. As the density is varied, one expects a transition from this spin liquid state to a spin density wave antiferromagnetic state. In

Molecular characterization and quantification using state of the art solid-state adiabatic TOBSY NMR in burn trauma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We describe a novel solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method that maximizes the advantages of high-resolution magic-angle-spinning (HRMAS), relative conventional liquid-state NMR approaches, when applied to intact biopsies of skeletal muscle ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Presence of 3d Quadrupole Moment in LaTiO3 Studied by 47,49Ti NMR

open access: yes, 2003
Ti NMR spectra of LaTiO3 are reexamined and the orbital state of this compound is discussed. The NMR spectra of LaTiO3 taken at 1.5 K under zero external field indicate a large nuclear quadrupole splitting.

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.
