Thermodynamic Analysis of Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) System
Liquid air energy storage (LAES) uses air or nitrogen as a storage medium as well as a working fluid. It belongs to the category of cryogenic energy storage, which is introduced separately in the other chapter of this book.

Experimental investigation of tank stratification in liquid air energy storage (LAES) system
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2022Abstract Liquid air energy storage technology is a technology that stores liquid air in case of excess power supply and evaporates the stored liquid air to start a power generation cycle when there is an electric power demand. When liquid air is stored for a long-time during operation, safety and performance degradation can be caused or mitigated by ...

Modeling, analyses, and assessment of a liquid air energy storage (LAES) system
2021In this research paper, a comprehensive thermodynamic model of a LAES system is carried out. Exergy analysis as a potential tool to determine the location and magnitude of losses is applied. The proposed system is comprised of two sub-systems, one is used for air liquefaction which is considered as energy storage.
