Local Heat Transfer Measurements on a Rotating Flat Blade Model with a Single Film Hole [PDF]
An experimental study was performed to measure the heat transfer coefficient distributions on a flat blade model under rotating operating conditions. A steady-state thermochromic liquid crystal technique was employed to measure the surface temperature ...

Multiple effects of forced cooling on joint quality in coolant-assisted friction stir welding
To understand the multiple effects of forced cooling on the joint quality in coolant-assisted friction stir welding and the underlying mechanism, commercial pure aluminum AA1050 was welded by liquid–CO2–assisted friction stir welding (FSW) within a large

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Evaporative Heat Transfer from an Electrowetted Liquid Ribbon on a Heated Substrate
Evaporation of narrow water ribbons (of 5 and 7 lL volume) formed on a heated surface is investigated. Chemical and structural patterning of a silicon substrate is employed to fabricate a hydrophilic stripe that bisects hydrophobic pillar arrays of ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Parametric Simulation Study of Liquid Film Cooling of Hydrocarbon Liquid Rocket Engine
The hydrocarbon liquid rocket engine working environment is harsh; the thrust chamber needs to withstand high temperatures and a high-pressure working environment, and the thrust chamber wall material is difficult to bear, so it is necessary to design ...
