Dehumidifier desiccant concentration soft-sensor for a distributed operating Liquid Desiccant Dehumidification System

Energy and Buildings, 2016
Abstract Distributed operating of Liquid Desiccant Dehumidification System (LDDS) increases the flexibility in system operation, allowing one regenerator to handle multiple dehumidifier units. To meet the requirement of this operating scheme, a soft-sensor is developed for the real-time measurement of the desiccant solution concentration.

Empirical model for predicting the dehumidification effectiveness of a liquid desiccant system

Energy and Buildings, 2016
Abstract The main purpose of this research was to propose a practical correlation for predicting the dehumidification effectiveness of a liquid desiccant (LD) system. The experimental data were collected during the operation of a typical liquid desiccant dehumidification unit.

Experimental study of dynamic characteristics of liquid desiccant dehumidification processes

Science and Technology for the Built Environment, 2016
Liquid desiccant dehumidification is an effective method of removing moisture from the air for air conditioning in built environments. The dehumidifier is a critical component where coupled heat and mass transfer between the desiccant solution and the air occurs.

Analysis of air dehumidification using liquid desiccant system

Renewable Energy, 1994
Analyses are presented for air dehumidification using a liquid desiccant system. The expression for the coefficient of performance of the system is derived in terms of the operating and design parameters where the effect of each parameter can be directly identified.

Formaldehyde removal performance analysis of a liquid desiccant dehumidification system

Building and Environment, 2017
Abstract Liquid desiccant (LD) systems are an efficient method for humidity control. Moreover, LD systems also function to purify the air and remove volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde. This study aims to analyze the performance of a LD system for formaldehyde removal from indoor air while simultaneously considering air dehumidification ...

Preliminary Investigation of a Liquid Desiccant System for Dehumidification and Cooling in Athens

Volume 6A: Energy, 2013
Liquid desiccant air conditioning systems have recently been attracting attention due to their capability of handling the latent load without super-cooling and then reheating, as happens in the conventional compression-type air conditioning systems. In liquid desiccant cooling cycles, a sorbent solution is employed to dehumidify the air, circulating ...

Study of the Heat and Mass Transfer in a Dehumidification of Liquid Desiccant

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
Desiccant systems have been proposed as energy saving alternatives to vapor compression air conditioning for handling the latent load. Desiccants are classified as either liquid or solid. The main components for a liquid desiccant system are the dehumidification and regeneration towers. This paper presents the results from a study of the performance of

Modelling and optimization for a novel liquid desiccant dehumidification system

2017
With the improvement of people’s life in modern society, requirements on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), especially on the indoor air temperature and humidity are increasing. Meanwhile, conventional energy inefficient air conditioning systems consume lots of energy during the process of air humidity control.

The design of liquid desiccant dehumidification control system

2017
A dehumidifier plays a significant role in our lives. To make a dehumidifier run in a more stable, controlled and energy-saving way has been a meaningful research direction and goal. For this reason, a novel control system for dehumidifier, liquid desiccant dehumidification system (LDDS) is developed.
