The dynamics of a heavy cylindrical body in a liquid-filled horizontal cylindrical cavity with a time-varying rotation rate is experimentally investigated. The body is near the cavity boundary under a centrifugal force and undergoes solid-body rotation together with the liquid and the cavity at a fixed rotation rate. The dependence of the body dynamics

Abstract The liquid metal embrittlement sensitivity of a modified 9Cr1Mo martensitic steel in contact with Lead–Bismuth Eutectic was studied as a function of the temperature in a wide range of deformation rate. A fracture mechanics approach (crack tip opening displacement and J-Δa) combined to a fractographic study was applied to study the maximum ...

Cavity Radius vs Energy Dissipation Rate in Liquid-Filled, Precessing, Spherical Cavities
AIAA Journal, 1973Theme E results and an idealized model are presented that yield energy dissipation rates as a function of radius for liquid-filled, precessing, spherical cavities. Experiments were conducted using cavities 11, 16.5, and 22cm in diameter and filled first with water to give turbulent flow conditions, and next with a silicone liquid (v = 1000 cs) to give ...

Abstract The motion of balls in a two-dimensional vibration mill was investigated by means of a simulation method called Discrete Element Method, which made it possible to calculate the intensity and frequency of ball collisions. The effects of vibration conditions and fractional ball filling on the characteristics of ball collisions and the grinding

In this study, the PTW 1000SRS array with Octavius 4D phantom was characterised for FF and FFF beams. MU linearity, field size, dose rate, dose per pulse (DPP) response and dynamic conformal arc treatment accuracy of the 1000SRS array were assessed for 6MV, 6FFF and 10FFF beams using a Varian TrueBeam STx linac.
