Resíduos vegetais na superfície e carbono orgânico do solo e suas relações com a densidade máxima obtida no ensaio proctor Mulch and soil organic carbon content and their relationship with the maximum soil density obtained in the proctor test

Numerical computation of the domain of operation of an electrospray of a very viscous liquid

open access: yes, 2010
A numerical study is carried out of the injection of a very viscous liquid of small electrical conductivity at a constant flow rate through an orifice in a metallic plate under the action of an electric field.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The impact of different methods of Atterberg limits determination on the resulted Unified soil classification [PDF]

open access: yesمجله جنگل ایران, 2019
One of the essential characteristics of fine-grain soils is the plasticity or Atterberg limits of them that directly are used in classification and prediction of mechanical properties and soil behavior. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Deteminação do limite de liquidez em dois tipos de solo, utilizando-se diferentes metodologias Determination of liquid limit in two types of soils using different methods

Discussion of ‘‘Re-Examination of Undrained Strength at Atterberg Limits Water Contents’’ by H.B. Nagaraj, A. Sridharan & H.M. Mallikarjuna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Having recently investigated soil strength at the Atterberg limits, the discussers read the paper by Nagaraj et al. (2012) with interest. Whilst some of the conclusions of the paper concur with those of our own work, there are other areas in which we ...
