Liquid Metal Memory

Advanced Materials, 2023
AbstractStorage systems are vital components of electronic devices, while significant challenges persist in achieving flexible memory due to the limitations of existing storage methodologies. Inspired by the polarization and depolarization mechanisms in the human brain, here a novel class of storage principles is proposed and achieve a fully flexible ...

From liquid metal dealloying to liquid metal expulsion

Journal of Materials Science, 2020
In liquid metal dealloying, it is assumed that the corrosion product (dealloyed porous solids) is wetted by the liquid metal; otherwise, the dealloying may be halted due to liquid metal expulsion. Here, we report the first observation of liquid metal expulsion in liquid metal dealloying—liquid Ga rushes out of porous C when the dealloying of Mn–C alloy

Penetration of liquid metals into solid metals and liquid metal embrittlement

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2004
Abstract For some solid metal–liquid metal couples that exhibit liquid metal embrittlement, penetration of the embrittling liquid metal along grain boundaries of the solid metal is observed. Penetration speed of liquid gallium into aluminum and that of mercury into silver and copper were measured by using thin evaporated films.
