Liquid–Liquid Phase Transition in Metallic Droplets
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2022We report theoretical evidence of the substrate-induced liquid-liquid phase transition (LLPT) behaviors in a single Al droplet and Ti-Al droplets. The Al droplet can produce an LLPT induced by substrates in part, forming a special three-layer structure. However, the introduction of a Ti droplet can promote the LLPT in an Al droplet.

Liquid-Filled Metal Microcapsules
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2012A moisture-sensitive diisocyanate liquid is microencapsulated within a metal shell measuring less than 2 μm thick and 50 μm in diameter. This mild synthesis takes place through a series aqueous processing steps that occur at or near room temperature. Through a combination of emulsification, interfacial polymerization, and electroless plating, one can ...

Penetration of liquid metals into solid metals and liquid metal embrittlement
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2004Abstract For some solid metal–liquid metal couples that exhibit liquid metal embrittlement, penetration of the embrittling liquid metal along grain boundaries of the solid metal is observed. Penetration speed of liquid gallium into aluminum and that of mercury into silver and copper were measured by using thin evaporated films.

Liquid‐Repellent Metal Oxide Photocatalysts
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2019AbstractMetal oxide photocatalysts (MOPCs) decompose organic molecules under illumination. However, the application of MOPCs in industry and research is currently limited by their intrinsic hydrophilicity because MOPCs can be wetted by most liquids.

Liquid-Metal Molecular Scissors
ACS Applied Materials & InterfacesMolecules are the smallest units of matter that can exist independently, relatively stable, maintaining their physical and chemical activities. The key factors that dominate the structures and properties of molecules include atomic species, alignment commands, and chemical bonds.

Liquid Metal/Metal Oxide Frameworks
Advanced Functional Materials, 2014A new platform described as the liquid metal/metal oxide (LM/MO) framework is introduced. The constituent spherical structures of these frameworks are made of micro‐ to nanosized liquid metal spheres and nanosized metal oxides, combining the advantages of both materials.
