Muscle‐specific AXIN1 and AXIN2 double knockout does not alter AMPK/mTORC1 signalling or glucose metabolism

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This study investigated the role of AXIN1 and AXIN2 in regulating skeletal muscle AMP‐activated protein kinase (AMPK) and mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) signalling and glucose uptake. Although AXIN1 has been proposed as a key scaffold linking energy sensing to catabolic and anabolic signalling pathways in cell

Surface Characterization of Scintillator‐Adsorbed Polyethylene Terephthalate Film and Its Use for Detecting α ‐ and β ‐Particles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 29, August 5, 2025.
Thermal transfer using the high‐temperature crimping method led to the bonding of cellulose fibers and a scintillator to the film surface. β‐Particles of tritiated water were detected by immersing the scintillator‐adsorbed film. Scintillation images of the scintillator‐adsorbed film were obtained by irradiating β‐particles from 90Sr/90Y and α‐particles

Investigation of liquid distribution in gas–solid fluidized beds for fluid cokers

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 103, Issue 8, Page 3983-3998, August 2025.
Abstract Thermal cracking processes convert larger molecules into smaller, more valuable products, without a catalyst, allowing for transforming residual oils or waste plastics into useful compounds. Fluid coking, a thermal cracking process utilizing a fluidized bed of hot particles, processes approximately 1 million barrels of residual oil daily. This

A Reexamination of CO2 Reduction with Fe2S2 Hydrogenase Mimics: Lessons in Using a Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Catalyst for CO2 to Formate Catalysis

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 12, Issue 13, July 3, 2025.
Combining cyclic voltammetry, infrared spectroelectrochemistry, and density functional theory methods, the reduction of CO2 by an [FeFe] hydrogenase mimic was examined. Despite its ability to form stable reduced hydride species, this catalyst does not selectively reduce CO2 to HCOO− under the tested conditions.

Can biochar amendment alter the sorption of glyphosate in the Australian Vertosol soil system?

open access: yesSoil Security
Biochar has the potential to adsorb glyphosate, a potential groundwater pollutant in areas having indiscriminate use in farming activities. Batch sorption experiments were conducted at the University of Sydney, Australia.
