NaSC2H: A First Crystalline Compound with a −SC2H Anion, an Isolobal Variant of Ubiquitous −SCN

Crystalline NaSC2H was obtained by reacting NaC2H with elemental sulfur in liquid ammonia. It contains −SC2H anions, which was confirmed by infrared and Raman spectroscopy as well as by structural elucidation based on synchrotron powder diffraction data. −SC2H is a new isolobal variant of the ubiquitous −SCN anion (thiocyanate).
